The Blood of Jesus Takes Away All Sin | Dry Erase Sharpie

What you need:

• A dry erase board
• A black permanent sharpie marker (preferably one with a thicker tip)
• A red dry erase marker
• A dry erase eraser

Lesson:

PICK A VOLUNTEER AND HAVE THEM COME UP AND WITH THE BLACK PERMANENT MARKER WRITE “SIN” ON THE DRY ERASE BOARD. DON’T LET THEM KNOW IT IS A PERMANENT MARKER THOUGH.

So today, as you can see from this board here, we are going to be speaking about sin.  

Does anyone here know what sin is?

LET YOUR CLASS GIVE VARIOUS ANSWERS FOR A WHILE

Sin is anything that comes between you and God

TALK TO YOU CLASS FOR A LITTLE BIT ABOUT SIN WHILE YOU ARE GIVING THE SHARPIE MARKER TIME TO DRY

Ask your class… “Does anyone here know how sin came into the world?”

Romans 5:12 – Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

ONCE THE SHARPIE IS DRY…

So man was tricked in the garden by the devil to sin and ever since then we have been suffering the consequences of that mistake.

Man has tried a thousand and one things to take away the stain of sin but nothing they have ever come up with on their own has ever worked.

HAVE YOUR VOLUNTEER TRY TO ERASE THE WORD “SIN” FROM THE BOARD. LOOK AWAY SO YOU DON’T SEE THE RESULTS

Now that the sin is finally gone we can…

LOOK DOWN AT THE BOARD AND BE VERY STARTLED OR ANGRY THAT IT IS STILL THERE.   TRY WATER BUT NOTHING WORKS!  GRADUALLY GET MORE AND MORE FRANTIC AND THEN START TO BLAME YOUR VOLUNTEER.

What have you done? It won’t come off! What marker did you use?

GET THE MARKER THEY USED AND DRAMATICALLY READ IT AND SHOW THE CLASS THAT IT WAS A “PERMANENT” MARKER! OH NO!

You messed me up!  I know I gave you that marker but still, you didn’t read it?  Oh great… It simply does not come off!  Nothing we try to take away the stain.

• Thinking positive thoughts won’t do it
• Being a “nice” person won’t take it away although it will make you easier to get along with
• Doing incredible, noble, humanitarian efforts won’t take away the stain
• There is NO man made solution that will ever take it away.

So what can we do?!  I guess we are stuck forever with this stain huh?  We are doomed to a life of sin… OR ARE WE?

Luckily God has a plan for us!

Peter said in Acts 2:38 that there is REMISSION of sins if we just repent and are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ!

Another verse Hebrews 9:22 – And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

When we repent and are truly sorry for the things we have done, God’s blood will wash away all of our sin.

The blood of Jesus is the answer for all sin!

TAKE THE RED DRY ERASE MARKER AND COMPLETELY COVER THE WORD “SIN”

Once your sin has been covered by the blood and you are baptized in the incredible name of Jesus, every sin you have ever committed is not only washed away but is also thrown into the sea of forgetfulness.

USE AN ERASER OR TOWEL AND WIPE AWAY BOTH THE RED AND BLACK MARKER… EVERYTHING SHOULD DISAPPEAR LEAVING NO TRACE

So just remember that man’s way will never work but if we follow God’s plan it will work every time!

Ephesians 1:7 – In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
