Trusting in God | Trust Fall

Here is a great way to teach your kids about TRUSTING IN GOD!

Script:

Tell Helper, “I am Jesus today. Do you trust me?”

Helper: No, not really

Jesus: Tell me that you trust me

Helper: But I really don’t

Jesus: Tell me that you trust me ANYWAY

Helper: So you want me to tell you that I trust you when I don’t really trust you?

Jesus: Yes…

Helper: Ok, then I trust you (under their breathe)… even though I really don’t

Jesus: If you trust me, face away from me

Helper: But… I just told you I don’t really trust you

Jesus: Please, do it anyway.  Just please do as I say.

Helper: Ok (they turn away from Jesus)

Jesus: Do you trust me?

Helper: Not really but I will say I do.

Jesus: Tell me you trust me.

Helper: OK! OK! I trust you

Jesus: Then fall backward.

Helper: WHAT?! NO!

Jesus: You said you trusted me.  If you trust me, fall back.

Helper: But… but I don’t really.

Jesus: Just do it… just fall backward and I promise you I will catch you.

Helper: Uh… I have a LOT of problems trusting people

Jesus: I know you do… it will be ok.  Just fall back and I will catch you

The talk a little more… they keep looking over their shoulder… finally they fall back (not with a lot of trust though) and Jesus catches them.

Helper: WOW! Jesus you did catch me!  Let’s do it again.

Jesus: I told you I would so…

They quickly turn around and instantly fall back again… NOW they trust He will catch them

Jesus: Go ahead of face me again

Helper: SURE, NO PROBLEM! This is GREAT!

Jesus: Now, I want you to fall…

Helper: FALL FORWARD!? Sure, no problem at all. Here I go!

They fall forward and Jesus stops them before they really even get started falling

Jesus: Whoa! Hold on there.  That isn’t what I was going to ask.

Helper: But I trust you now! I will do whatever you ask!

Jesus: You do? Ok… then fall backward

They look over their shoulder and see NO ONE THERE! They start to panic

Helper: But NO! There is no one there.  I can’t do that!

Jesus: I thought you trusted me

Helper: I thought I did… no… I just… I just can’t….

Helpers walks off and out the door
