Sin Separates Us from God | Pool Noodle Magic

What you need:

• 3ea  – 4” (or thereabouts) poodle noodle lengths in 3 colors – green (MAN), blue (GOD) and orange (SIN)
• 2ea 4’ pieces of rope

Setup:

• Double up each rope
• Feed one loop through the other and fold about 2 inches or so of the loop back on itself
• Thread the “sin” noodle onto the ropes and cover the loops – leave it like that at first

Lesson:

At the beginning of time each one of us was created by God.

This little piece here is going to represent man.

HOLD UP THE GREEN PIECE OF THE POOL NOODLE

And this piece here is going to represent God.

HOLD UP THE BLUE PIECE OF THE POOL NOODLE

At the beginning of time each of us was created by God and given life by Him and we were created in His image. Initially we were connected to God…

HOLD THE BLUE AND GREEN NOODLE RIGHT NEXT TO ONE ANOTHER

We spent time one on one with Him but then something happened. Something separated us from God and we were no longer connected to him.

We found out that when man was given a choice, men actually made a choice to disobey God.

HOLD UP THE ORANGE PIECE OF POOL NOODLE WITH THE ROPES RUNNING THROUGH IT

As a result of disobeying God we actually died, not just physically but spiritually.  These ropes that you see here are the sin that manages to entangle our lives so that man is far from God.

TIE THE KNOT AROUND THE SIN NOODLE (GRAB ONE END FROM EACH SIDE, IT DOESN’T MATTER WHICH ONE, AND TIE A VERY SIMPLE GRANNY KNOT

Even when we try to get close to God and draw near to Him, sin is a constant barrier that blocks us from having a relationship with him.

SLIP THE ROPES THROUGH THE BLUE PIECE OF POOL NOODLE ON ONE SIDE OF THE ORANGE NOODLE AND THE SLIDE THE ROPE THROUGH THE GREEN PIECE OF POOL NOODLE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ORANGE NOODLE.  THE ORANGE PIECE SHOULD BE SEPARATING THE BLUE AND THE GREEN NOODLES FROM ONE ANOTHER

If we don’t rely on something that Jesus is done than our own attempts to get closer to Him are hopeless.

HOLD THE ROPES VERTICALLY WITH THE BLUE IN THE UP POSITION AND THEN SPIN IT AROUND SO THE BLUE IN THE DOWN POSITION.  THE ORANGE PIECE WILL KEEP THE TWO FROM GETTING CLOSE TO ONE ANOTHER

Sin blocks us from being connected to God once again. The sin has to be removed and that spiritual death has to be taken away.

HAVE A VOLUNTEER COME UP AND GRAB BOTH SIDE OF THE ROPES IN EITHER HAND.  MAKE SURE THERE IS SLACK IN THE ROPES AND THAT THEY ARE NO PULLING THE ROPES TIGHT

But God loved up SO MUCH that while you we were yet sinners Jesus Himself came, robed Himself in flesh and died for us on the cross for you and me.

God took death upon Him and removed it from our lives and from our hearts and so now the sin that separates us has to be removed but it can only be removed by God.  You see when we repent of all of our sins and are baptised in Jesus name like it says in Acts 2:38, God will absolutely forgive us of anything we  have done wrong.

TELL YOUR VOLUNTEER TO PULL THE TWO ROPES APART ON THE COUNT OF THREE AND THEN COUNTDOWN.  WHEN THE VOLUNTEER PULLS, THE ORANGE PIECE OF NOODLE WILL AMAZINGLY PULL OFF IN YOUR HANDS

The sin separated us is now removed from our lives and now we can once again be connected to God. We can be joined together with Him once again. The truth is that God loves you and me and He should just how much on Calvary when He gave His life for you and me.

If you repent of all your sins and are baptized in Jesus name, God will remove the sin from your life also, and you can then receive the wonderful gift of the Holy Ghost and Jesus will come to live inside of you.
