What you need:
- 5 gallon water bottle
- Alcohol
- Lighter
How the experiment works:
- Put a small amount of alcohol in the bottle and shake it for 1-2 minutes (the longer you shake it the better the reaction).
- Light the end of the bottle and MAKE SURE NOTHING IS IN THE WAY!
Lesson idea (contributed by Bro. James Wang):
- Crying doesn’t mean you have the Holy Ghost – it means that God is working on you
- Shake the bottle and say, “The stirring of the Holy Ghost is awesome – let Jesus do it, BUT that isn’t the Holy Ghost
- Light the bottle and you hear the sound likened to speaking in tongues
- When you get the Holy Ghost you KNOW IT!
As always, whenever you use fire be very careful to not hurt yourself or others. Keep the children a safe distance away the entire time this is taking place.
