Bible Jeopardy
There are many fun games you can do in Sunday School, some simple and some rather more elaborate. This one perhaps falls somewhere in between but is a LOT of fun! It is Bible Jeopardy.
We had a wonderful lady in our church, Sis. Norma Lee, take a lot of time and make a FANTASTIC Jeopardy game board that was 8 feet wide and 4 feet tall! She spent a lot of time on it and it came out looking great as you can see in the pictures.
The game follows the typical guidelines of standard Jeopardy in that there is a board with 5 columns and 5 rows. Each column is labeled with the name of a category such as “People in the Bible”, “Books in the Bible”, “Places in the Bible” etc and the rows are from 100 up to 500 points (no double jeopardy).
On each of the 25 spots on the board there was a pocket. Because our class has a fairly wide range of ages in it, we put about 5 questions varying in difficulty into each pocket. This allowed us to tailor the question to the age and maturity level of the child answering.
How you divide the class is completely up to you…. Boys versus girls, left versus right, whatever you want to do. You can just pick people for each of the predetermined selections and allow them to answer OR you can poll the entire section to get the answer… er…. Question.
This game is a great way to review material you have taught recently and to have a great time in the process. Try it out and let us know how it works for you!
Note: A bigger board is better but much more difficult to store for later use.
