Be on Fire for God | Suckin’ Up Dat Water
What you need:
- A candle (preferably one that is narrow in diameter and about 3 or 4 inches tall
- A clear glass vase that you can fit around the candle (the best kind are the ones that have a thin neck, just large enough for the candle to go inside with some room to spare, and a bulbous bottom portion)
- A lighter
- A plate
- About 8 ounces of water
- Dark food coloring (I prefer blue myself but whatever floats your boat)
About the lesson:
This is a quick demonstration with a candle in the middle of the plate that has colored water poured all around it. When you light the candle and slipped the vase over it, the fire continues to burn for a bit and then a lot of water is sucked up into the vase.

This here is what God is and what He has for you if you just let Him.
HOLD UP THE BOTTLE OF THE DARK LIQUID AND SET IT ON THE TABLE
And this is the church, your family, the pastor, those people that are living for God that love you, care about you and do anything they can to see you saved and become something for God
HOLD UP THE VASE AND THEN PUT IT OVER THE CANDLE
You can have EVERYTHING going for you!
AS YOU NAME THE ITEMS ON THE FOLLOWING LIST, SLOWLY POUR THE DARK LIQUID ON THE TRAY AROUND THE CANDLE
You can go to the best church – POUR SOME COLORED WATER AROUND THE CANDLE
Listen to the best preaching – POUR MORE WATER AROUND THE CANDLE
Have incredible song services – POUR MORE WATER AROUND THE CANDLE
Have deep, lasting altar calls – POUR MORE WATER AROUND THE CANDLE
Have moves of God that are life-changing – POUR MORE WATER AROUND THE CANDLE
Go to a Christian school – POUR MORE WATER AROUND THE CANDLE
Have godly parents that teach you the things of God in your home – POUR MORE WATER AROUND THE CANDLE
Go to GREAT Sunday School classes – POUR MORE WATER AROUND THE CANDLE
Read the bible / listen on audio – POUR MORE WATER AROUND THE CANDLE
Be in bible quizzing – POUR MORE WATER AROUND THE CANDLE
Go to Jr camp where MANY other people are getting the Holy Ghost – POUR MORE WATER AROUND THE CANDLE
WHATEVER, BUT YOU WILL NEVER GET ANY OF IT UNTIL YOU ARE ON FIRE FOR GOD!
No one can FORCE the spirit of God into you
This is why GREAT parents and great people of God can have kids that don’t turn out so well. If you don’t get it for YOURSELF you will NEVER become something great for God. If you don’t fall in Love with Jesus YOURSELF you will get NOTHING out of service, nothing out of singing, nothing out of your parents teaching you, nothing EVEN out of the bible quizzing verses you may learn.
No matter how badly your parents would like to, they can’t make you love God or make you love the Word of God or give you the Holy Ghost. YOU MUST WANT IT!
Oh, but if you just get a taste of how good my God is! If you just get a sniff of how incredible He can be. If you understand how WONDERFUL He is EVERYTHING WILL CHANGE!
If you can just get on fire for God… REALLY on fire, not just a one night blessing where AFTERWARD you go out and act the exact same way you always have. Somehow everything will be different because BUT ARE CHANGED TO THE CORE!
LIFT AND REMOVE THE VASE FROM THE CANDLE AND THEN LIGHT THE CANDLE – DON’T PUT THE VASE BACK YET
It’s amazing how when you get on fire for God, now the same things you ignored before, the same things you thought were boring before, the same things you didn’t pay attention to before ALL OF A SUDDEN BECOME A PART OF YOU.
PLACE THE VASE BACK OVER THE LIT CANDLE
NOW, instead of you REJECTING the moving of the Spirit of God, you are like a Sponge! When the pastor is preaching you are getting behind him AND GETTING FOOD FOR YOUR SOUL! When the choir is singing, you aren’t laughing with your friends, instead you are up at the front worshipping God. During those long altar calls you aren’t the first one out the door, you are the last to leave. You suddenly feel God and get something out of EVERYTHING!
GET ON FIRE AND STAY ON FIRE FOR GOD!!!!
