Attention Getter – Giant Dry Ice Bubble

2nd Angle
What you need:
- dry ice
- water
- a ceramic or plastic bowl with a very smooth rim
- a strip of felt or chamois
- dish soap or bubble solution
Sometimes you just need to get the kids’ attention.
You may need a good icebreaker to start off a class or you may need to just get the attention of the room back where it belongs. And this is a great experiment to do that with.
You put water in the bottom of the bowl and drop a small amount of dry ice into the water. You did the chamois in the dish soap or bubble solution and slighted across the top of the bowl to make a complete seal.
Once you do this the dry ice will be generating carbon dioxide which will cause the bubble to grow and grow until it pops in a really neat smoky explosion.
